HeyNashi ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our meal planning and recipe management application.
1. Data We Collect
We collect the following types of information when you use HeyNashi:
- Email address — used for account creation, authentication, and service communications
- Profile information — such as your display name and language preference
- Kitchen content — recipes, recipe images, meal plans, grocery lists and sharing invitations you create
- Dietary preferences and allergen settings — to personalize your experience
- Usage data — how you interact with the Service, to help us improve it
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- To send you important service updates and account notifications
- To understand how the Service is used and improve the user experience
- To process payments and manage your subscription through our payment provider
When you share your kitchen, the people you invite can access shared recipes, meal plans and grocery lists. Your display name helps identify you to the people you share with.
Connecting an assistant or another compatible app is optional. Once you authorize a connection, that app can access and change supported HeyNashi data on your behalf. You can revoke the connection in HeyNashi under connected apps. The connected provider handles data it receives under its own privacy policy; disconnecting stops future access but does not delete copies already received by that provider.
3. Payment Processing
Web payments are processed through Stripe and RevenueCat. Apple processes purchases made through the App Store. RevenueCat manages purchase and subscription access using an account-linked purchase identifier and purchase status. The applicable payment provider receives the information needed to complete the transaction, which may include contact, billing and payment details. HeyNashi does not store full card details. These providers process data under their own privacy policies.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on servers within the European Union using Supabase, a trusted infrastructure provider. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, secure authentication protocols, and regular security reviews. While no system is 100% secure, we take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate HeyNashi:
- Supabase — database hosting, authentication, and real-time data synchronization (EU servers)
- Stripe — processing web payments
- RevenueCat — purchase and subscription management across web and iPhone
- Google — OAuth authentication (if you choose to sign in with Google)
- Apple — optional Sign in with Apple and App Store purchases in the iPhone app
- Connected apps — assistants or other compatible providers you explicitly authorize
6. Your Rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection laws, you have the following rights:
- Right to access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data and account
- Right to data portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to withdraw consent — withdraw your consent for data processing at any time
8. Children's Privacy
HeyNashi is not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through a notice within the Service. Your continued use of HeyNashi after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
